(Balkan Webcam Model) Try Supplementing Your Income With Cameo

Cameo, a popular app that allows celebrities to send personalized video messages to their fans, is a reliable sales revenue for adult performers and sex workers online… but it may not be all you think it is.

i-D.com, a Vice News property, recently wrote a feature reporting that some performers have successfully incorporated Cameo for their fans as an additional means to earn more revenue from their work.

Featuring mainstream personalities like stoner comedian Tommy Chong, former NFL star Chad Ochocinco, Twitch streamer Eva Violet, YouTube star Jojo Siwa, and Law & Order SVU mainstay Ice-T, fans pay a fee to get a video of the star wishing their special someone a happy birthday, happy anniversary, or to commemorate some other important date.

Adult performers with a strong following are using Cameo to offer a similar service, but with a spicy but safe-for-work vibe.

YNOT Cam dug in a little more to see the scope of how popular adult performers are on Cameo. Here’s what we found out.

There are over 200 personalities who list themselves as adult performers, models, or porn stars including the legendary trans rights icon, Buck Angel, who has an active following on the app. Other big names that make up an “A” list of adult stars include Mia Malkova, Brandi Love, Eva Elfie, Cherie Deville, Annabelle Rogers, Pornhub Aria, Stormy Daniels, Manuel Skye, and more.

Adult performers from several different backgrounds have Cameo. Collectively, thousands of fans follow them and are genuinely interested in their favorite models and performers on a more personal level outside of the typical environment of OnlyFans or camming.

Even though fans are purchasing Cameo videos from a performer, it still serves as a different approach to content and fan engagement.

Earnings run the gamut. i-D.com’s Hallie Lieberman, a sex historian and journalist, wrote that the average range was from $20 to $2,500. While some models are flourishing on the platform, as Lieberman reports, Cameo is not the giant cash cow that an external observer would expect.

Performers can make cash on Cameo but it’s more or less an outlet to supplement existing revenue streams.

At least, that’s the case for adult industry veteran and popular pornstar Nickey Huntsman who is a regular in Naughty America scenes and a full-time OnlyFans performer. Nickey told us that she only makes a few Cameo videos per week and, in turn, cashes out only a few hundred dollars per month.

“It’s not crazy busy but it’s a neat PG way to do shout-outs for fans and to wish them a happy birthday,” Nickey texted. “It’s not major money, but it’s a fun way to interact with fans. I’d recommend Cameo. Just don’t expect to make major money on it.” She further discussed that other platforms exist, like the very popular SextPanther that she’s a favorite on. “You can easily earn $100 to $1000 a week,” she said.

Cameo normally has a no-not-safe-for-work content policy. However, models like Nickey skirt the rules by posting content that is quite mild in comparison to what they share on OnlyFans or outlets like a cam site, Pornhub, or a studio.

Give Cameo a try and see if it is a solid fit for your workflow. You’d be surprised what these little gems can do for content and revenue.
